How it works
- A colour word appears in coloured letters. Pick the colour of the letters, not the word.
- Press one of the four buttons (red, blue, green, yellow). Keys 1 to 4 work too.
- After 20 items you get your total time. Each wrong answer or timeout (3 s) adds 1.5 seconds.

About this test
Colour Trap is a game built on the Stroop effect. Reading is so automatic that when you see the word BLUE printed in red, your brain shouts "blue" first. The time it takes to override that and pick the colour is a measure of how well you filter out interference.
Fifteen of the twenty items are mismatched (word and colour differ). Your score is the sum of your response times in seconds plus 1.5 seconds for every wrong answer or timeout (3 s). Lower is better. An answer within 150 ms cannot be read and chosen, so it counts as wrong.
This is a concentration game played for fun. Compare results with yourself on the same device and in the same conditions. It is not a diagnosis or an assessment of any kind.

FAQ
Is it unfair if I am colour blind?
Red, blue, green and yellow are a relatively distinguishable set, but red-green colour blindness can make red and green confusing. Treat the result as fun only.
Can I just not read the word?
That is what makes it fun: you cannot. Reading is automatic. Blurring your eyes or looking at the edge of the letters are known tricks, but in the end it comes down to focusing on the colour alone.
Where do the baselines come from?
They are initial estimates derived from this game's own rules (20 items, 3 s limit, penalties). Academic tests use different item counts and response methods, so we did not import their numbers. Baselines update as records accumulate.
